Our Story

From One Truck to Portland's Go-To Crew

Mike Callahan started Brightline Electric in 2008 with a truck, a toolbox, and a simple promise: do honest work, charge a fair price, and leave every house cleaner than he found it. Word got around the way it does in Portland — one neighbor at a time.

Mike came up the traditional way: a four-year apprenticeship, years as a journeyman pulling wire on everything from new builds to gut renovations, and finally his Oregon master electrician license. Eighteen years in, he still runs the site visits himself, because the person quoting your job should be the person who understands it.

What started as a one-man operation is now a tight four-person crew — small enough that you'll recognize the faces that show up, big enough to handle a full rewire or a same-day repair. We have a soft spot for Portland's old houses, whose wiring has stories to tell, and we love making them safe for another hundred years.

Giving Back

Wired Into the Community

Portland gave Brightline its start, and we try to give a little back. Every year we donate electrical work to Habitat for Humanity Portland Region, wiring new homes for families building their first one. It's the kind of work that reminds us why we got into this trade in the first place.
